Not too many years ago, coffee got somewhat of a bad rap. Today, it seems that coffee offers far more benefits than disadvantages for those who drink it in moderation – good news for those who love their morning cup of Joe! As a contract food services company in Atlanta, serving up excellence for decades, we thought we would share some of these benefits and other interesting facts with you.
According to the Mayo Clinic, studies in recent years have revealed that coffee actually provides health benefits for those who enjoy one or two cups per day. These possible benefits include a decreased risk of depression, improved cognitive function, and even protection against liver disease, type 2 diabetes, and Parkinson’s disease.
Web MD backs up the good news, adding that it’s possible those who drink coffee have a decreased risk of strokes, heart rhythm issues, and certain types of cancer. While the studies can’t provide solid proof of these health benefits because of other factors such as whether some coffee drinkers exercise more, eat a healthier diet, or even are lucky enough to have protective genes, the news is still positive!
Now for a few other facts about coffee you may find surprising or even fascinating.
